When I began to study about love, sex, and relationship, I found that there were a lot of great relationship coaches and therapists, many of whom had written some very good books. What I found missing in those teachings and books was a discussion of the part sex played in the relationship.
I also found some good teachers in the area of sexuality. What I noticed about the sexual teachers was that many of them were not able to sustain a long term relationship.
I always thought that the best combination was a long term, loving, sexual relationship that would give me the bliss and ecstasy I sought. When I met Judith, who is among other things, a writer, personal and relationship counselor, and a student of Tantric Yoga, (a spiritual practice that includes sacred sex) we began exchanging ideas about how to integrate and teach all the information we each had learned.
In the process we continued to do more research and found new material that explained how the hormones and neurotranmitters affected our brains and how that related to our love and sex life.
When I pitched our ideas at Joel and Heidi Roberts extrordinary media relations workshop, Joel asked me how I could bring what I used to do — fly fighters — into what I want to do now. One of the participants said, “You’re the Top Gun of Love.” Everyone liked the idea, but promoting myself as “the world’s top lover” didn’t feel right to me. However the concept of ‘Top Gun’ got us fired up about writing a manual, much like the manual that I knew from flying jet fighters. A manual that explains how the love, sex, and relationship systems work and how to use them in different situations. The result — “TOP GUN LOVE” — A Fighter Pilot’s Manual for Sizzling Sex and Romantic Relationships.
We are currently revising what we think will be our final draft of the book and plan to have it ready by December.
